Don’t be fooled by NJOY’s low initial cost.  You will end up paying much more for replacements than with better brands such as V2 Cigs or Green Smoke.

Mike Powell - Electronic Cigarette ExpertNJOY was one of the very first electronic cigarettes to come to the United States.  They have gone through significant changes through the years with various starter kit models and designs.

It seems they are currently phasing out their rechargeable models in favor of a recyclable e-cigarette program, which is not good for the consumer.

At one time NJOY was one of the only e-cigarette options and we are thankful they brought the initial idea of electronic cigarettes to the masses, but their product is currently not on the same level as some of the other brands and can’t truly be compared.  The upfront cost is cheap, but you get what you pay for and will end up worse off when it’s time to buy their downright expensive refills.

If you’re trying electronic cigarettes for the first time or looking to change brands, I recommend reading our reviews and trying something else.

Starter Kits

  • NJOY King – $26.97 – 3 Pack of disposable or recyclable electronic cigarettes.
  • Rechargeable Express Kit – $21.99 - 1 Cartridge, 1 Rechargeable Battery, and 1 USB Charger.

Design

With limited selection of products that force customers into high costs to continue using their product, it’s apparent NJOY is all about the profit.  You can tell by their website, they don’t put much effort into creating quality products.

Cartridges

NJOY CartridgesNJOY is consistently ranked as one of the worst tasting e-cigarettes.  With only one option for both tobacco or menthol, the consumer is stuck with something that can’t be enjoyed.  You have to wonder what their motivation is when the only options for nicotine strength is high or extra high.  We would like to see medium, light, and zero nicotine like our other top ranked brands.

Note: The estimates listed on the website comparing 1 pack of NJOY cartridges to a carton of cigarettes is completely unrealistic.

NJOY Cartridges are available in 2 flavors and 4 nicotine levels:

  • Tobacco or Menthol
  • Bold (4.5%), Gold (3%), Low (8mg), None (0mg)

Batteries

NJOY batteries don’t last very long and they don’t provide very much power.

The e-cig model NJOY is currently promoting is “recyclable”.  This means you buy their e-cigarette, use it until the battery dies, then you have to buy another.  This is the opposite of the convenience you would find with another brand.

Accessories

This is the section where we usually highlight any accessories that are available to make your electronic cigarette experience more enjoyable.  Unfortunately, NJOY doesn’t offer a single accessory.  I’ll say it again, you get what you pay for with NJOY.

Our Recommendation

NJOY is currently not making an e-cig that we would recommend.  While their older models were nothing special, their new NJOY Kings are all around poor quality and can’t be recharged to boot.

NJOY is on our not recommended electronic cigarette list.  With so many options available, read through some other reviews and you will definitely find something better.

I bought one of the new Njoy Bolds. While I liked the taste and taking a drag was much easier than the old style after about I would guess a half a pack worth of smoking the battery died. Not recommended by me either.

Bought one last night, opened it, tried it (couple puffs) and put it away. Opened it later today and puffed a couple times (3 or 4) and put it away. Did this about 6 times … It was done as the “head” started blinking indicating it was out.

All in all, it was more expensive than a real pack of smokes that lasts me 4 days.

Waste of money (not health, at least we don’t know that just yet)

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS PRODUCT.

What a RIP OFF. Got the disposable King and got like 20 his on it. I contacted the company and they said it was defective and sent me another. In the mean time I went out and bought another one. SAME THING. I counted the pulls and got 27. Called the company and they sent me another one. I got the two replacements and they did they same thing. Actually 1 made it to 42 pulls. WHAT A GARBAGE PRODUCT

I really did not enjoy this product. Cartridge ran out very quickly. There are much better products on the market.

I would recommend you try something else.

Need to offer a car charger because the batteries don’t last long. Also should sell the batteries in the same stores where the refills are sold so we don’t have to wait to order them . It would also be nice if they were sold in packs of 7 for a full week rather than packs of 5 which makes no sense at all. Over all, I like the product but there are a lot of little things bugging me about the marketing.

Bought my first pack of njoy gold tonight at 7 pm. Had dinner and smoked about the equivalent of 4 cigarettes max. By 10 pm my njoy started blinking and was empty. Total waste of money. They’ll send me a new pack but I’m very discouraged by this product.

So far I have had a very good experience with the NJOY menthol. Depending on how much I pull it usually last me about 5 days my last one only lasted 2 days due to taking more puffs do to going out drinking with friends. Due to the reviews I am hesitant on buying rechargeable kit. But the disposable ones have been pretty good to so far.
